Blink 182 was releasing a new album “Nine” and wanted an intimate show with some of their top fans. For Spotify, our question was “How can we make an impact with a band known for decade old hits, while building a show that could scale?”
#NINEENCORES turned into a global live-streamed event where Blink performed 9 of their top streamed hits. Turning a 100+ cap show in Brooklyn into a Facebook livestream where over 1.4M people across the world got to enjoy a show.
We teased the location + setlist prior, ramping up the excitement to make fans feel as though they were going to the real thing. We leveraged FB groups, IG Stories notifications, and a real world billboard in Times Square to get the word out.
As Jeremy Zerby from Twitter put it “It's pretty cool when you can watch a concert with 3 friends from high school but also be in 3 different places. The internet is wild.” 🤘
